St. Luke’s Church Honors Diana Anderson on Her Retirement as Organist
After nearly three decades of faithful service, St. Luke’s Church bids a heartfelt farewell to our beloved organist, Diana Anderson, as she retires from her role. Diana has been the heart of our music ministry since 1995, blessing both the parish and the wider Smethport community with her extraordinary gift for music.
An accomplished pianist long before she came to St. Luke’s, Diana’s journey with us began in a most unexpected way. While attending a wedding at the church, she was immediately taken by the beauty of the sanctuary and felt a connection to our parish family. Soon after, she began sharing her talents by playing piano for children’s events. It was then that Fr. Calvin Miller, recognizing her talent and devotion, invited her to consider learning to play St. Luke’s magnificent pipe organ. Diana accepted the challenge with enthusiasm, and the rest is history.

For the past 29 years, her music has lifted spirits, deepened worship, and brought the presence of God into every service. Diana has served faithfully under several priests during her tenure, always offering her music with humility, grace, and heartfelt devotion. Her playing has been more than accompaniment; it has been a ministry in itself—one that has touched countless lives.
Diana is loved not only by the parishioners of St. Luke’s but also by the entire Smethport community, who have been blessed time and again by her beautiful Christian music. From solemn hymns to joyous celebrations, she has been the steady voice of praise that has carried us through the years.
As Diana turns the page into the next chapter of her life, she looks forward to spending more time with her family. While her presence at the organ bench will be greatly missed, her legacy of faith and music will remain an enduring part of St. Luke’s.
With deep gratitude and warmest wishes, we thank Diana Anderson for her decades of dedicated service. May God continue to bless her richly in the years to come.
