APPLICATION REVIEWS

Dear Friends in Christ,

The search process is entering a new phase, as the application period has closed and all application materials have been transferred to the committee for review.  The next step is to contact those candidates whom the committee agrees should proceed to a first round of online interviews.  The committee uses a rubric designed by our consultant to evaluate candidates based not on what we feel, but based on the values and characteristics we put forth in our profile.  Interviews will be held late February into March, at which time the committee will decide on which candidates will proceed to a second round of online interviews in March.

In preparation to welcome a new bishop, the Search Committee has designed a lenten study for congregations to engage.  The committee urges congregations to use this 5 week study as their lenten programming this year.  The study features listening to scripture as well as diving into the nature of the episcopacy. We will look in-depth at the priorities in the profile and converse about their implications in our congregations.  

The Search Committee will also lead an online session each week of the study, for five Thursdays starting February 19, from 7pm-8pm. Please continue to pray for the committee, the candidates, and this process.  The Holy Spirit is moving among us: may we listen to where she calls.
